Being a Cat
For those of you
who are not cats,
it's not as easy as you might think
being a cat.
All those decisions:
whether to sleep
sixteen hours a day
eat fourteen balanced meals,
or skip one to stay trim,
chase a lizard or a sparrow,
fight in a rolling ball of fur,
or just sit there thinking about the prospect,
and taking a nap to ease the tension,
going in and out twenty times a day,
and taking time to ponder each trip seriously.
Any way you look at it,
being a cat
is not as easy as having a man by your side,
while leading a dog’s life.
So to speak.
