Country Women

I gotta tell you,

it was a bouffant.

There was five feet of woman

and five feet of hair

all stacked up in front of me

primed, primped, and ready

for any action

the world might throw her way.

And if the world wasn't pitching that night,

well, I guess she would just jump her a stray

and cut him out from the herd.

Her eyes glittered deep inside

that bleached bouffant cloud,

and her smile suggested

that my body had finally found a place

to lie down.

My body, however, knew its limitations

and decided to get its owner the hell

out of Dodge,

and away from country women.
